Where can I get a TxTag?

Getting an electronic TxTag and opening an account is easy. Simply go to www.TxTag.org or call the Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998).

How much does a TxTag cost?

If you sign up for AutoPay when opening a TxTag account, you will receive your TxTag sticker for free. If you do not enroll in AutoPay, you will be charged $13.85 for the TxTag sticker. The tag fee will not be applied retroactively. If you already have a TxTag, you will not be charged a sticker fee unless you need a new or replacement tag and are not enrolled in AutoPay. Note: All customers must prepay $20 in tolls to set up a TxTag account.

How often will I be billed?

If you have a TxTag account, your tolls will be deducted automatically from your account when you use the road. You may check your account balance by logging into your account online or by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center (1-888-468-9824 / International: 001-512-874-9998).

Note: TxTag customers are encouraged to use a credit card to sign up for AutoPay. Using a credit card to sign up for AutoPay is the best way to for customers to ensure they always have enough funds on their TxTag Account and avoid receiving a toll violation.

When can I contact the TxTag Customer Service Center?

The TxTag Customer Service Center is open to assist you Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may call 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998), or visit our walk-up counters in Austin at 12719 Burnet Road.

Can I use my TxTag in more than one vehicle?

No. Since your TxTag sticker must be permanently mounted on your windshield, it can only be used in one vehicle and should not be moved between vehicles. If you have more than one vehicle in your household, you can order additional TxTags and manage them on one account.

Can motorcycles use TxTag stickers?

Motorcycles use a different type of TxTag than those used on cars and trucks. If you have a motorcycle, contact the TxTag Customer Service Center to request a motorcycle tag. The charge for a motorcycle tag includes a refundable deposit.

Can I have more than one vehicle on a TxTag account?

Yes. You can manage multiple vehicles on a single TxTag account. This includes both motorcycle and sticker tags. If you need more than five tags on one account, you will need to set up a commercial account by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center.

How do I check my TxTag account balance?

You can check your account balance on the TxTag.org website by logging into your account online or by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998).

How do I add money to my TxTag account?

You can add money to your TxTag account with a credit card online or by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998).

How do I update the information on my TxTag account? What if I change license plates?

You can update your address and phone numbers by logging into your account online or by calling the TxTag Customer Service Center. To update your license plate, please call the TxTag Customer Service Center at 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998).

I still have money on my swipe card account. Can I use it to pay tolls?

Swipe cards are no longer accepted on Camino Colombia. If you have money left on your account, you should call 1-956-712-7790 to request a refund. You also should open a TxTag account if you plan to continue using the Camino Colombia toll road.

What happens if I don't get a TxTag?

You must have a TxTag account or other accepted prepaid account to pay tolls on Camino Colombia. Under Texas law, non-payment of tolls is a misdemeanor offense, and you may be subject to Administrative fees and fines of up to $350 per violation.

Can I use my Laredo Trade Tag on Camino Colombia?

No. The Laredo Trade Tag is not currently accepted on Camino Colombia. If you have a Laredo Trade Tag, please call the TxTag Customer Service Center (1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998)) to open a TxTag account. You will need to keep enough money in your TxTag account to cover the cost of your tolls on Camino Colombia. Though you will have a TxTag account, you should not install a TxTag sticker if you have a Laredo Trade Tag on your windshield.

Can I use my Dallas TollTag or Houston EZ TAG to pay on Camino Colombia?

Yes. Dallas TollTags and Houston EZ TAGs work in toll lanes that display the TxTag logo throughout the state. Be sure to keep all of your account information current to avoid potential fees.

Do I need to open an account even if I have an out of country license plate?

Yes. International customers, please contact the TxTag Customer Service Center by calling 001-512-874-9998 to request a TxTag and open an account.

I live outside of the United States, and I ordered a TxTag over the phone or through the TxTag website. When can I expect my TxTag to arrive in the mail?

Due to international shipping standards, please allow four to five weeks for your TxTag(s) to arrive in the mail. If you order a tag online or from a Customer Service Representative, it will arrive already added to your account, activated and ready to install on your vehicle immediately.

Does a TxTag account expire?

A TxTag account will not expire unless it is unused for three or more years. Any funds left on TxTag accounts with no activity for three or more years are subject to Texas escheatment laws as described in chapters 72 through 75 of the Texas Property Code.

Camino Colombia Day Pass

How does a Camino Colombia Day Pass work?

If you're planning to use the Camino Colombia toll road and do not have a TxTag account, you may call the Customer Service Center to prepay your tolls at 1-888-468-9824 (International: 001-512-874-9998).

You will need to provide the following information: the number of trips you plan to take on the Camino Colombia toll road, your license plate number and address, the type of vehicle you drive and a credit card number. Your credit card will be charged for the cost of the trip, based on the type of vehicle and number of times you plan to use the toll road.

You must use a major credit card to open a Camino Colombia Day Pass account. MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express are accepted.

How much does a Camino Colombia Day Pass cost?

Toll rates depend on the type of vehicle you drive. View the toll rates. When you call to open a Day Pass account, the customer service representative will determine the cost of your trip. You can choose to prepay any dollar amount to cover the cost of future trips, as your Camino Colombia Day Pass funds do not expire.

Can I get a refund?

No. Camino Colombia Day Pass accounts are non-refundable.

Can I open a Camino Colombia Day Pass account online?

At this time, you cannot open a Day Pass account online. You must call 1-888-468-9824, or international customers: 001-512-874-9998.

What happens if I take more trips on the toll road than I had planned?

Drivers with insufficient funds on their prepaid Camino Colombia Day Pass will receive a Pay By Mail bill for the additional toll charges, including the standard $1.15 Pay By Mail fee. Drivers are responsible for payment of the tolls and fees specified on the bill. Failure to pay will result in the issuance of a Notice of Toll Violation that includes additional Administrative fees as authorized under Texas Transportation Code §228.055.

Can I have more than one vehicle on a Camino Colombia Day Pass account?

Yes. You can manage multiple vehicles on a single account. You will need to provide the license plate number and type of vehicle for each car or truck.

Can I open a Camino Colombia Day Pass account for someone else?

Yes. You may prepay tolls for a family member or friend. You must have the necessary vehicle information for the other person's car or truck to open a Day Pass account.

What if I have other past due accounts with Texas Tollways?

If you have a past due account with Texas Tollways, you will be required to pay all overdue toll charges and fees before you can open a Camino Colombia Day Pass.

Can I convert a Camino Colombia Day Pass to a TxTag account?
